SMFA has led a digital transformation for its processes including various modern software and IoT-based technologies to make data-driven decisions and improve operations. The tools currently deployed to aid the management includes:
1. IoT-Based Fleet Management System (VMS)
2. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
3. Human Resource Management System (HRMS)
4. Distributed Control System (DCS)
5. Grate-Kiln technology
6. Industry 4.0
SMFA has set up its own Captive Power Plant (CPP) of 15 MW. The DRI facility is integrated with a Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB) which takes in the generated flue gas, whose temperature is in the range of 800 to 1000 degree C to produce steam that ultimately runs the turbines. This helps cut down the coal consumption significantly. This visionary idea is a part of our green initiative to transition towards sustainable resources. Our proposed expansion plans of the captive power plants will cater to the increased power requirement and will make us more self-sufficient.
